Karon Lavon (Jordan) Cheek, 52, passed away surrounded by her loving family at her residence in Franklin on May 8, 2020.

She was born on June 28, 1967 in Franklin to Edward Jordan and Kay (Schrougham) Anderson. She married Robert “Bobby” Lane Cheek on March 31, 1984. He lovingly survives. Other survivors include her children, Kassidy Love (Daniel), Stacie Flood (Marcus), Jason Cheek (Lydia), Paco Francisco and Oto Francisco; grandchildren, Caleb Love, Madison Love, Ethan Flood, Ellie Flood, Tristan Cheek, and Blayne Cheek; father, Ed; mother, Kay; step-father, Ted Anderson; and sister, Karla Diebold. She is preceded in passing by her step-mother, Ellen Jordan.

Karon graduated from Franklin Community High School in 1985. She later graduated in 2003 from Franklin College.

Karon worked at Franklin Community Schools for 16 years as a teacher. She was very active within the school. She was the Middle School Drama Director and also was a Foreign Exchange Host of 9 students.

She spent her time reading and hunting for treasures at garage sales. Above all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Rev. Micah Bryant and Rev. Greg Fox will conduct a celebration of Karon’s life on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church, 4743 S. 600 W. Trafalgar, Indiana 46181. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the church. A graveside service will follow at First Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Franklin.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Karon Cheek Scholarship Fund at First National Bank, P.O. Box 389 Franklin, Indiana 46131. Please make the check out to First National Bank and note “Karon Cheek Scholarship Fund” in the memo line.
