William H. “Bill” Lemasters 86 of Greenwood, IN passed away Monday, May 11, 2020. He was born September 10, 1933 in Indianapolis, IN to William Harley Lemasters and Nora (Brinkman) Lemasters. He married Norma J. (McConnell) Lemasters on September 2, 1962 at Oaklandon Christian Church, she survives.

He had been a data processor for Bell South retiring in 1995, he previously had worked for Pitman Moore later becoming Dow Chemical and American United Life Insurance Company both in data processing.

He was a United States Army Veteran having served in Occupational Forces in Europe from 1953 till 1955. He was a 1951 graduate of Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis, IN and attended Butler University.

Bill was an active member of Mt. Pleasant Christian Church since November 1962 in Greenwood where he had served as Deacon, Elder, choir member, the Bible Bowl ministry and part of reestablishing the home communion ministry. He had served as Cub Master of Troop #267 in Greenwood.

He and his wife Norma enjoyed traveling as they had visited all 50 of the United States, Europe, the Panama Canal and Australia, he loved fishing with his dad, son and grandsons, they were also members of the Circle City Corvair Club.

Survivors include his wife Norma J. (McConnell) Lemasters of Greenwood, IN, his son Donald E. Brown of Greenfield, IN, daughter Rene’ Guy (Michael) of Greenfield, IN, two grandsons Christopher Michael Guy of Greenwood, IN and Nathan William Guy of Greenfield, IN, three nieces, five nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and three sisters: Helen Burst, Louise May and Maryann Harrell.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a drive-thru visitation will take place on Friday, May 15, 2020 from 4 p.m. till 7 p.m. at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN.

The Reverend Chris Philbeck will conduct a private family service on Saturday, May 16, 2020 and will be live-streamed at 1 p.m. where friends can connect at that time at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/william-lemasters.

Burial will be in Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis, IN with military honors conducted by the United States Army Honor Guard.
