FRANKLIN
Joe David "Dave" Carter 66 of Franklin, IN passed away Wednesday May 13, 2020 at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis, IN. He was born February 16, 1954 in Indianapolis, IN to Joe Carter and Carole (Page) Carter. He married Betty June (Qualls) Carter on May 17, 2014 at Friendship Baptist Church in Franklin, IN, she survives.
He attended Lawrence High School in Indianapolis. He retired in 2017 from PepsiCo in Indianapolis as a lab technician after 39 years of service. After retirement, he worked at HI-WAY Lanes in Franklin. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Franklin.
He enjoyed bowling and was part of the Franklin United States Bowling Congress and also coached bowling with the Franklin Youth Bowling League. His interest included reading, sports and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Betty June (Qualls) of Franklin, IN, his children Ryan Carter (Tammy) of Whiteland, IN and Patty A. Carter of Franklin, IN, step children Charles Hyatt (Stacey) of Columbus, IN and Chris Pickett (George) of Edinburgh, IN, ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, a sister Crystal Feltner (Wayne) of Westmoreland, TN, brothers Bruce Carter (Kay) of Indianapolis, IN, Perry Carter (Terry) of Franklin, IN, Dwayne Carter of Franklin, IN, Shawn Carter of Franklin, IN and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Due to COVID 19 restrictions, his brother Bruce Carter will conduct a private family service and will be live-streamed at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2020 and where friends may connect at <a href="http://www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/joe-david-carter">www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/joe-david-carter</a>. Friends may call Monday from 5-8 p.m. with social distancing to be adhered to.
