GREENWOOD
Robert “Bob” K. Mitchell, 72, of Greenwood, Indiana passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2020 in Greenwood, Indiana.
Bob was born on Wednesday, July 2, 1947 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Robert Kenneth Mitchell and Mary (Bennett) Mitchell. On March 9, 1968,Bob married the love of his life, Brenda Smith.
Bob attended Franklin College and Graduated with a Sociology Degree. He is a United States Army Vietnam Veteran who proudly served his country. He was a National Service Officer for The Order of The Purple Heartand a Veteran Benefit Advocate. He was member of The Whiteland Masonic Jubilee Lodge #746 F & AM. He was also a former Commander of the Whiteland VFW Post 6978.
Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. There are so many wonderful memories that his family will cherish and think of often. Bob was a great family man and made each person feel special and abundantly loved. He will be missed by all that knew him.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; and younger brother, Michael Mitchell.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Mitchell, of Greenwood, Indiana; his beautiful daughter, Andrea (Matthew) McLaughlin, of Beech Grove, Indiana; his grandchildren, Alisha N. Maynard, of California, Robert J. (Gabrielle) Mitchell, of Indianapolis; great-grandchild, Freya C. Mitchell, of Indianapolis; and many loved ones and friends.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation from 12:00 pm until time of service at the Jessen Funeral Home ~ Whiteland Chapel(25 people will be allowed in the funeral home at one time- due to current health regulations and no lounge service will be allowed at this time.)
In lieu of flowers family is requesting that Donations be made out to Village Bible Church in Greenwood, Indiana. (695 Pushville Rd, Greenwood, IN 46143)
