Sue Elizabeth (Dowden) Williams 81, lifelong resident of Greenwood, IN passed away Friday, May 22, 2020 surrounded by her family. She was born July 10, 1938 in Greenwood, IN to Carl and Elizabeth (Day) Dowden.

She married Clyde J. Williams on August 17, 1958 at the Smith Valley EUB (Methodist) Church in Greenwood, IN, he preceded her in death on November 9, 2002. She was a 1956 graduate of Center Grove High School.

She had been a customer service representative for the National Bank of Greenwood for twenty years and later First Indiana Bank. She was a member of Southland Community Church and a former member of the Community Church of Greenwood where she and her late husband served as flock leaders. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking and attending Bible study groups.

Survivors include her son Jim Williams (Amy) of Greenwood, IN and her daughter Cheryl Cook (David) of Greenwood, IN, her four grandchildren Emily Fortune (Kris) of Indianapolis, IN, Nathan Cook of Lewis Center, OH, Jackson Williams of Greenwood, IN and Molly Williams of Greenwood, IN, a great grandson Rhett Fortune, a sister Linda Jane Carson (Mickey) of Greenwood, IN and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Russell Dowden and Jerry Dowden.

Pastor Kerry Huffman will conduct a service on Wednesday May 27, 2020 at 7 p.m. at Southland Community Church 5800 West Smith Valley Road in Greenwood, IN where the service will be live-streamed at www.southlandchuch.org click watch live, with visitation with COVID 19 restrictions and social distancing for senior aged family and friends or those with underlying medical conditions can visit from 3 p.m. until p.m. on Wednesday at the church and the general public is invited from 4 p.m. till service time. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Greenwood, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to Southland Community Church 5800 West Smith Valley Road Greenwood, IN 46142.
