Nikolai Atticus Atkinson-Trittipo, 2 months, gained his angel wings on May 27, 2020 in Indianapolis.

Nikolai Atticus Atkinson-Trittipo was born with a rare heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. To make him more unique, he also had Pulmonary Stenosis, which made his care at Riley Hospital a little more special. He fought through multiple open heart surgeries and procedures making him a true Heart Warrior. His smile was extremely contagious. He was a very sweet boy full of spunk. He touched many hearts in and out of the hospital. He will forever be loved and sorely missed. Baby boy is finally coming home with Mama and Daddy.

Nikolai was born March 24, 2020 to Larry Atkinson and Reanna Marie Pena. He is survived by his sisters, Ezmeralda Pena, Jenavieve Atkinson and Bailey Atkinson; his grandparents, Kimberly Rice, Adam Rice, Kevin Atkinson, Monica Stemle, Tammy Atkinson and Zeph Stemle; his great-grandparents, Laura Gerde, Thomas Trittipo and John Gosc; his aunts and uncles, Alexis Rice Trittipo, Courtney Atkinson, Phoenix Rice and Justin Atkinson.

Visitation for Nikolai will be held Tuesday, June 2, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. with a Celebration of Life to follow at 6 p.m. at Jessen Funeral Home – Whiteland Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Nikolai’s honor to IU Riley Children’s Hospital – Heart Center.
