BARGERSVILLE, IN.

Stephen W. “Steve” Robards, 66, lifelong resident of Bargersville, IN passed away Saturday, May 30, 2020. He was born May 18, 1954 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN to Harold Julian and Trula Kathleen “Katie” Robards.

He married Karen D. (Andrews) Robards on February 17, 1979 at the Banta Methodist Church, she survives.

He was a 1972 graduate of Center Grove High School where he was a member of the football team. He also was a graduate of Lincoln Technical School in diesel mechanics. He was a lifelong farmer of the Bargersville, Johnson County Community. He had coached Center Grove Lassie League.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors and spending time with his grandchildren and attending all of his family and extended families sporting events.

Survivors include his wife Karen D. (Andrews) Robards of Bargersville, IN, his daughter Sarah Caldwell (Steve) of Franklin, IN, grandchildren Kaitlyn, Lia, Lauren and Evan Caldwell all of Franklin, IN, brothers Mike Robards (Linda Kay) of Bargersville, IN and Dave Robards (Betsy) of Bargersville, IN, nephews Chad Robards (Kim) of Bargersville, IN, Nate Robards (Ann) of Bargersville, IN, Ben Robards of Bargersville, IN and Joey Price ( Montie Manning) of Plainfield, IN, nieces Kathleen Smith (Sean) of Nolensville, TN and Amy Dixon (Chris) of Greenwood, IN and eleven great nieces and nephews.

A visitation utilizing COVID 19 restrictions and social distancing for senior aged family and friends or those with underlying medical conditions from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Thursday June 4, 2020 and from 4 p.m. till 8 p.m. for family and friends at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN.

A graveside service for family and friends will be conducted on Monday, June 8, 2020 at 10 a.m. at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, IN. The family request memorial contributions be made to the Johnson Memorial Health Foundation in care of the Katie Robards Scholarship 1125 West Jefferson Street Franklin, IN 46131 or at www.johnsonmemorial.org.
