Jerry William Miller, Sr., 70, passed away at his residence in Franklin, Indiana on June 2, 2020.

He was born on June 6, 1949 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Frank Kyte Miller and Josephine Bell (Dalton) Miller.

He is survived by his children, Jennifer Barrett (Jerry Chastain), Jerry “Jay” Miller, Jr. (Shannon), David Castner, Courtney Castner, and Douglas Miller; grandchildren, Morgan “Moggie” Barrett, Kaitlyn Miller, Troy Miller, and Jayce Castner; and brothers, John U. Miller, Sr. (Karol) and Roy Miller; nieces and nephews, John U. Miller, Jr. (Sharon), Lisa Anne Cahoon (John), and Wayne Allen Miller (Angel); great nieces and nephews, Bella, Robert, Anne, Abithina.

Jerry was preceded in passing by his parents; sisters, Ruth Miller and Loretta Miller; former wives, Karen Sue Miller and Carolyn Moore-Miller.

He attended Arsenal Technical High School. Jerry was a proud United States Army veteran.

He retired from Amtrak after 20+ years of service. He worked as a welder and machinist.

Jerry enjoyed singing, cooking and collecting coins. He was a member of the NRA and loved to shoot his guns. Jerry was a caring, kind and generous man and would help anyone in need. He spent his whole life in service to other people. He will be sorely missed.

Pastor John Miller will conduct a celebration of life service on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton Street (U.S. 31) Franklin, Indiana 46131 with military honors to follow at the funeral home. Visitation for Jerry will be held on Saturday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 8, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Fairfield Cemetery in Summer County, Tennessee.
