Eddie H. Ward, 75, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2020 in Greenwood, Indiana. Eddie was born to the late George and Dorothy (Bingham) Ward in Oneida, Kentucky.

Ed was a 1963 graduate of Seymour High School. After graduation, Ed began attending barber school with his father. After completion of barber school, he began working at a barber shop in Greenwood, next to a hair salon where a quiet blonde beautician worked, who caught his eye. They had their first date in July of 1969 and by November Ed and Tanya were married.

Tanya preceded Ed in death in 2013.

In the same month that they had their first date, Ed opened Tracy Plaza Barber Shop in New Whiteland where he worked for almost 50 years. He loved meeting new people and bringing a smile to everyone’s face with his jokes and stories. He made every person that walked through his door feel important. Ed was a member of Masonic Lodge #412 in Hayden, Indiana.

Family was a major part of Ed’s life. He loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and extended family. The greatest joy of his life was being Grampy. His family was extended past blood relation, he had many friends that he considered family.

Ed is survived by two children Kimberly (Jon) Andrews, and Kevin Ward, three grandchildren: Madelyn “Gracie Grace”, Nicholas “Nitness”, and Lily “Princess”. He is also survived by two sisters, Shirley Bibb and Bobby (Dennis) Prewitt, as well as his in-laws Rick and Marilyn Raines.

Ed is preceded in death by his loving wife, Tanya, his parents, as well as two sisters, Carolee Herron and Dottie Ward.

A visitation will be held Monday June 15th from 4-8 p.m. at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Greenwood Chapel, 481 West Main Street Greenwood. A Masonic Service will take place at 7 p.m. A funeral service will take place Tuesday June 16th at 11 a.m. friends may visit from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
