Kelly Elaine McKinney Crawford, age 56, passed away June 23, 2020 in Tucson, Arizona. Kelly was born at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN on January 10, 1964. Kelly was the daughter of the late John Scott McKinney and the late Mary Alice Dawson McKinney.

Kelly grew up in Beech Grove and attended Indiana State University. Kelly was active in the Beech Grove High School Band and Dance Team. She also played and lettered in volleyball and tennis. She was in banking with Key Bank in Indianapolis for many years retiring after her first major stroke. Kelly was living in Tucson Arizona for the past five years and Greenwood, IN for over 30 years.

Kelly had several health issues since 2011 but ALWAYS fought hard; like a dancing Mohammad Ali, to come back. Kelly exemplified the word perseverance; as she always continued to enjoy each day, never complaining and always giving smiles and laughter to those around her.

She remained as active as limbs would allow. She enjoyed swimming, visiting beaches, New Orleans, California and Disney World, loving on her beautiful granddaughter Scarlett, and always remembering each niece and nephew on birthdays and holidays. Kelly never asked of others but always strived to be as independent as possible.

She will be loved and missed by her daughter, Alexandra Crawford (Jamie) Hunt; her granddaughter, Scarlett Alice Rambaran; her sister, Kathyleen Elise McKinney Tompkins; nephew, Timothy V Schafstall; nieces, Melissa A. Nightingale, Kristen E. (Ryan) Wampler; four great nephews Nicolas V Nightingale, Ian J Schafstall, Mark E Wampler and one great niece Audrey E Wampler and her dearest friend in the world, Stacey Duffy Moyer.

All Kelly ever wanted was to love others, try to make everyone happy, and make a party out of any event she could think up to celebrate. Her love of animals and flowers was as deep as people. Kelly thrived in helping everything grow with her green thumb, nourishing love, and non-judgmental heart.

Visitation will be 3:30-5:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 2 from at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home, 1605 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, followed by the service at 5:30 p.m. She will be laid to rest at Salem Cemetery.
