Hearts & Darts – July 20

Hearts

We would like to share a big heart and thank you to Windrose Health Care for allowing us to use their parking lot on May 16 to stage the tractors and wagons for a 100th birthday celebration parade for our Dad, Sam Tinkle, Sr. Due to the coronavirus, we were not able to have the “Big Party” that we had planned, but the parade was the next best thing. We would also like to thank all the staff at Morning Pointe Assisted Living and all the staff at Main Street Hospice for the special things that they did to make this a truly memorable birthday. We could tell even behind the mask, that he was enjoying every minute of it. We would also like to thank the Daily Journal for the wonderful article commemorating his birthday with the interviews and pictures. To all the friends and family that sent cards and well wishes, we say “Thank you”. By the way, for those who have asked he received 227 cards and notes. Thank you all so much.

From the entire family of Sam Tinkle Sr.

Shout out to the Greenwood Parks and Recreation Department for successfully launching the 2020 Summer Concert Series! Thank you to the staff for researching and thinking outside the box to put together a venue that abides by the new normal but was relaxed and comfortable. Thank you to Tastes Like Chicken, Mallow Run, Oaken Barrel & Box Burger who were willing to be the first to test the new guidelines. Thank you to all the concert series sponsors that stuck by the Parks and Recreation department so that the series could continue. Thank you mother nature for clearing the sky and providing a beautiful cool evening; like the man said, “what’s a 15 minute delay when we have all been sitting at home looking at each other for four months?” And finally, thanks to all that attended who proved you can socially distance, play by the rules, be respectful to those around you and still have fun. It was a long time comin’ and a job well done!
