<p>
Robert J. Kirkpatrick, 88, of New Whiteland, Indiana passed away on Monday, July 20, 2020 in Franklin, Indiana.
</p>
<p>
Robert was born on November 14, 1931 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Wallace M. Kirkpatrick and Ethel M. (Kephart) Kirkpatrick.
</p>
<p>
Robert attended schools in Indianapolis, Indiana and Bruce, Illinois.
</p>
<p>
Robert worked most of his life in the transportation business. He was a truck driver, mechanic, and quality control inspector.
</p>
<p>
Robert served his country in The United States Army from 1953 to 1955 and The National Guard from 1950 to 1953. He was a member of the American Legion, Teamsters 916, and The Social of Greenwood.
</p>
<p>
He loved spending time on his houseboat, The Bodema 3, having a cold beer, and relaxing with his dog, Lady.
</p>
<p>
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Mary Emily (Barnett) Kirkpatrick; and daughter, Kathi Sue Kirkpatrick.
</p>
<p>
Robert is survived by his sons, Jay Kirkpatrick (Monika) and their daughter, Marie-Kathleen, of Donauworth, Germany, Jeff L. Kirkpatrick and his family of Indianapolis, Indiana; his daughter, Debby Showalter (Rick) of Greenwood, Indiana and their children, Ryan of Chicago, Illinois and Jessica, of Evansville, Indiana; many loved ones and friends.
</p>
<p>
In lieu of flowers donation in Robert’s honor may be made to The Social of Greenwood, 550 Polk Street, Greenwood, Indiana 46143.
</p>
<p>
Due to COVID restrictions there will be no visitation. A private family service will be held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
</p>
