WHITELAND, IN

Richard P. Clarke Jr., 78 of Whiteland, IN passed away Saturday July 25, 2020 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin, IN. He was born March 8, 1942 in Indianapolis, IN to Richard P. Clarke and Charmed Clarke.

He married Lillian K. (Gosnell) Sego Clarke on September 9, 1977 at Northern Park Baptist Church in Greenwood, she survives.

He was a graduate of Whiteland Community High School. He was a United States Navy Veteran. He retired in 2000 as an inspector at the General Motors Truck and Bus Group in Indianapolis after 38 years of service.

He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union and Gracepoint Church in Whiteland. He enjoyed coaching little league and Church baseball and was an avid golfer.

Survivors include his wife Lillian K. (Gosnell) Sego Clarke of Whiteland, IN, children Brian S. Clarke (Susan Donner) of Whiteland, IN, Anthony D. Clarke (Tammy) of Whiteland, IN, Ronald L. Sego (Kim) of Marquette, MI, Jeffrey S. Sego (Darlene) of Franklin, IN and Douglas E. Sego (Brandy Wethington) of Franklin, IN, 15 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Jean Morgan.

The Reverend Marion Glover will conduct a service Thursday, July 30, 2020 at 10 a.m. at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed for friends and family to connect at <a href="http://www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/richard-clarke">www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/richard-clarke</a>. Friends may call Wednesday July 29, 2020 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the mortuary. Due to COVID-19 mandates all guest attending are require to wear face coverings or masking at the mortuary.
