MORGANTOWN
Norma Carol Stubbs, 72, of Morgantown, IN passed away Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. She was born in Clinton County, KY on July 2nd, 1948 to Frank Jessie and Emma (Dicken) Stearns. Carol was one of thirteen children.
Survivors include: Ida Lenker (Bill) of Wilton, Iowa and brothers Jessie Stearns (Sharon) of Franklin, IN, Howard Stearns (Joann) of Franklin, IN and Steve Stearns (Ruth) of Franklin, IN.
She married Marvin Stubbs on March 31st, 1968 at Bargersville First Christian Church, he preceded her in death on January 30, 2011. She is survived by their three children: Amy (Tom) Stubbs-Hurst of Franklin, IN, Eric Stubbs of Morgantown, IN, and Luke (Alyshcia) Stubbs of Morgantown, IN and six grandchildren: Kacey (Zach) Poynter, Grant Capuano, Elyse Capuano, Devin Bills, Hunter Stubbs, and Lane Stubbs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Marvin Stubbs; her in-laws Clifford and Margaret Stubbs; daughter in-law Dawn Stubbs; sisters Wilma Dugan (Merrill), Opal Pitcher (Arthur), Maxine Sidewell (Bill), and Lena Anderson (Clyde), and Phyllis E. Conner; and brothers Willie Franklin Stearns, James Ray Stearns, and Gary Devon Stearns.
Carol worked at the Methodist Home in nursing for over 42 years. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports, and attending their concerts and plays. She loved reading, spending time with family, and her dogs Emma and Browzer. Carol will be missed dearly by her friends and family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 9th, at the Franklin Parks and Recreation building, 396 Branigan Blvd, in Franklin, IN 46131 from 3-6 p.m.
