Norma Faye (Tilson) Goley passed away at Otterbein Franklin Seniorlife Community on Thursday, May 7, 2020. She was born on October 26, 1927 in Clark Township, Johnson County, IN to Homer and Lenna (Copeland) Tilson. Norma grew up on her family’s farm in the Rocklane area with her 10 siblings. She attended Clark Twp schools. On November 27, 1945 she married Robert Charles Goley in Southport, IN. They were married nearly 70 years. Robert passed away on May 4, 2015.

Norma and Robert farmed many years in the Needham, IN area. Norma was a dedicated farm wife, working alongside Robert. Besides keeping her house and putting three meals on the table each day, she was a parts runner, livestock herder, tractor driver, grain truck driver, veterinary assistant, chicken farmer, gardener, etc, etc. She did these jobs without complaining and with a smile on her face. She was a lifelong business partner, even though she never held a job outside the home.

Norma loved baking, crocheting, embroidery, playing euchre, gardening and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Norma was a lifelong member of Second Mt. Pleasant Baptist church. She served on various boards and committees within the church. She was a member of the church choir and she sang with the voice of an angel. Norma and Robert were members of the Nineveh Senior Citizens and the Progressive Farmer Group.

Survivors include their three children; Charles William "Bill" (Betty) of Franklin, IN, Eileen Faye Humes (Dan) of New Carlisle, IN and Rose Ann Rodriguez (Guadalupe) of Franklin, IN; five grandchildren, Troy Goley (Karen) of Fishers, IN, Brian Goley (Sabrina) of Coldwater, MS, Emily Milovich (Christian) of South Bend, IN, Becky Humes of Fowler, IN and Erick Humes (Sarah) of North Liberty, IN; and sixteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her Brother Floyd Tilson (Carolyn) of Greenwood, IN, and a sister-in-law Reba Goley.

She is preceded in death by her parents and 9 brothers and sisters, and a brother-in-law Clarence Goley.

Reverend Gerald Holmes and Bob Hendricks will conduct a celebration of Norma’s life on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 11:30 A.M. at Second Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 1540 N 800 East, in Franklin, IN, 46131. Due to COVID-19 mandates facial coverings or mask are requested by those attending. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for memorial contributions to Second Mt Pleasant Baptist Church, 1540 N. 800 East, Franklin, Indiana 46131 or to the Alzheimer’s Association, 50 East 91st Street, Indianapolis, IN 46240 or at <a href="http://www.alz.org">www.alz.org</a> or the Susan B. A private family graveside service was held at Second Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Franklin, IN where she was laid to rest next to her beloved, Robert. Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street in Franklin, IN is handling the arrangements.
