George E. Bauman

FRANKLIN

George E. Bauman, 64, of rural Franklin, passed away suddenly on Friday, August 14, 2020 at the family farm. Born on January 11, 1956, George was the son of F. Morris and Mildred (Handy) Bauman, both deceased.

George was a 1974 graduate of Indian Creek High School. After school he worked at Arvin Automotive in Franklin for several years. He then went to work for Reeves in Greenwood working on cars, his true passion. He subsequently had jobs at Sandman in Shelbyville and Ray Skillman in Southport. He retired as an ASC certified technician and alignment specialist. In addition to his passion for tinkering on cars, George enjoyed spending time with family, including their dog Bear, fishing, playing cards, and visiting with many friends.

Survivors include his former wife, Vicky, of Franklin; brother David (Karen) Bauman of Edinburgh; daughter Amber Bauman of Indianapolis; son Jacob Bauman (Ashley Koosman) of Franklin; Stepson Erick Osbom of Nineveh; stepdaughter Stephanie Osbom of Helmsburg; two nephews, two great nephews, and three step-grandchildren.

Friends and family may call on the immediate family on Friday, August 21 from 5-7 p.m. at Union Christian Church Shelter House, 1331 E. 300 South Franklin with a memorial service immediately following the visitation.
