John Edward Armes, 71 of Bargersville, passed away on Thursday morning, August 20, 2020.
John was born on December 7, 1948 in Washington, Indiana to Clarence and Dorothy (Warren) Armes. He married his loving wife, Terry (VanAtta) Armes on December 7, 1968. They celebrated fifty-one years of marriage.
John is also survived by their two daughters, Shelby Armes-Moles (Mike) and Mandy Hurrle (Greg); and grandchildren, Mackenzee O’Keefe (Sam); Emma Hurrle; Ethan Hurrle and Ella Hurrle.
He was preceded in passing by his parents and brother, Frank Armes.
John was a 1967 graduate of Center Grove High School.
He was Superintendent of Greenwood Cemetery for over thirty-six years, retiring January 2, 2015.
John was a former member of the Sons of the American Legion. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and loved spending time with his family, especially enjoying watching the grandchildren’s sports games.
Rev. Walter Howard will conduct a Celebration of John’s life on Saturday, August 22 at 4:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin with calling for friends and family on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to time of service at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Due to recent COVID-19 mandates, facial coverings and or mask are required for those attending.
