Boys tennis

Trojans sweep Park Tudor

Center Grove opened its season with a 5-0 triumph over Park Tudor on Thursday. The Trojans got singles points from Dhrumil Patel, Luke Embrey and Seth Jasek as well as doubles victories from Landen Finlinson and Bennett Strain at No. 1 and Glen Swaney and Ryan Wiseman at No. 2.

Warriors improve to 3-0

Whiteland notched its third straight 5-0 win by blanking Triton Central on Thursday. Quinten Gillespie, Ty McCullars and Ariss Mardanzai claimed the points at first through third singles, Dylan Gross and Christian Felker won at No. 1 doubles and Travis Robinson and Josh Pitts at No. 2.

Grizzly Cubs edged by Pirates

Franklin suffered a 3-2 defeat at Greensburg on Thursday, picking up both of its points in doubles. Jackson Klem and Sam Auger won in the first spot, while Zion Parkhurst and Jackson Hedges were victorious in the second.

Braves win thriller in opener

Indian Creek pulled out a 3-2 victory over Brown County on Wednesday, clinching with a third-set tiebreaker win from sophomore Brendan Conner at No. 2 singles. The Braves also got a point from Aiden Pemberton at third singles, and the No. 2 doubles team of Cole Allison and Trent Volz was a three-set winner. 

Girls golf

Grizzly Cubs dominate three-way

Franklin posted a score of 156 at Cascades on Thursday, easily outdistancing Martinsville (195) and Bloomington North (200). Liv Parramore and Ava Ray each had a 36 for the ninth-ranked Grizzly Cubs, while Ellie Beavins added a 38. Kara Heuchan and Kalyn Dickey rounded out the lineup with matching rounds of 46.

Braves clip Eagles

Hannah Emenhiser’s 46 was good for medalist honors during Indian Creek’s 230-245 win over Brown County at Salt Creek.

Lancers top Twisters

Edinburgh posted a team score of 225 to defeat an incomplete Oldenburg Academy lineup on Thursday at Hillcrest. Morgan Calhoun’s 48 led the way for the Lancers.

Warriors drop road match

Whiteland lost to Shelbyville at River’s Edge, 201-231. Dylani Sullivan paced the Warriors in defeat with a 52.

Lancers swept by Cougars

Edinburgh was beaten by South Decatur in three sets on Thursday, 25-14, 25-20, 25-21.

Braves beaten in three

Indian Creek fell to Tri-West, 25-13, 25-15, 25-6. Ava McClanahan had four kills and Makena Hogue 11 digs for the Braves.

Greenwood Christian rode an Ellie Bigelow goal to a 1-0 home win over Edgewood on Thursday.

In a battle between last year’s Mid-State Conference co-champions, Whiteland suffered a 4-0 loss at Plainfield on Thursday. The Warriors fall to 0-1-1 overall.
