I-65 work postponed

The Indiana Department of Transportation postponed asphalt patching on Interstate 65, between Franklin and Edinburgh, to next week.

Construction crews will now begin asphalt patching on I-65 on or after Friday, weather permitting, according to an updated INDOT news release. Patching was originally scheduled to begin Friday, but was canceled due to weather.

The work will cover both directions of I-65, between State Road 252 at Exit 80 in Edinburgh and a mile south of State Road 44 at Exit 90 in Franklin.

Work is planned to be completed over the course of six weekends, with around-the-clock, single-lane closures starting as early as 8 p.m. each Friday through 6 a.m. each Monday, according to the news release.

INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution and drive distraction-free through all work zones, the news release said.
