<p>Boys soccer</p><p>Trojans sweep at own tourney</p><p>Class 3A No. 4 Center Grove picked up a pair of wins at Saturday’s Trojan Classic, beating both Columbus East and Brownsburg.</p><p>Aaron McDaniel scored both goals for the Trojans (2-1-1) in the 2-0 victory over the Bulldogs and added another in a 5-1 rout of the 16th-ranked Olympians. Christian Badalato, Landen Montfort, Aiden Kinstler and Felipe Kroll also found the back of the net in that match.</p><p>Cougars claim tourney title</p><p>Greenwood Christian rolled through the Jennings County Panther Cup over the weekend, wrapping up with a 5-1 victory over Decatur Central in the title match. Fernando Lagunas scored twice against the Hawks, while John Amador, Sam Graves and David McLaughlin each added a single goal for the Class A No. 9 Cougars (4-0).</p><p>Warriors beaten by Owls</p><p>Whiteland took a 4-0 loss at Seymour on Saturday, falling to 0-2-1 on the young season.</p><p>Girls soccer</p><p>Grizzly Cubs take first loss</p><p>Franklin was defeated by Mt. Vernon on Saturday, 3-2. Mollie Hill and Stephanie Brady tallied second-half goals for the Grizzly Cubs (2-1).</p><p>Warriors tie Warriors</p><p>Whiteland battled back to salvage a 1-1 draw with Warren Central on Saturday. Sarah Turcotte netted the equalizer for the Warriors (0-2-1).</p><p>Roncalli edges Olympians</p><p>Chiara Schilten and Nora Jordan scored to lift Roncalli to a 2-1 win over Columbus East on Saturday.</p><p>Cross-country</p><p>Trojans shine at Edgewood</p><p>Drew Costelow finished first in 16:17 to lead the No. 7 Center Grove boys to victory in a four-team meet at Edgewood. Jarrett Rockwell (16:41), Griffin Hennessy (16:49), Parker Mimbela (17:02) and Raef Sauer (17:16) rounded out the Trojans’ lineup.</p><p>On the girls side, Center Grove beat three ranked squads to place second in a five-team meet. The Trojans were paced by Lily Brunsman (20:31), Sadie Schemmel (20:34), Lara Phipps (20:43), Elizabeth Madden (21:27) and Bella Hodges (21:44).</p><p>Warrior girls, Jefferson win</p><p>Whiteland’s girls earned a first-place finish at Indian Creek on Saturday. The Warrior boys landed in second place as a team but had the individual winner in Will Jefferson (15:26).</p><p>Franklin girls finish second</p><p>Lauren Klem and Lillian Lacy finished 1-2 overall and Jenna Newton added a fourth-place finish, but No. 21 Franklin was edged on a tiebreaker by 24th-ranked Westfield in a three-way meet at Plainfield on Saturday.</p><p>Girls golf</p><p>Trojans, Grizzly Cubs in top five</p><p>Center Grove and Franklin both scored 325 to finish in the top five of a loaded Roncalli Girls Golf Invite at Smock on Saturday. The No. 9 Grizzly Cubs edged the No. 5 Trojans for fourth by virtue of a lower score from the fifth player on the No. 1 handicap hole.</p><p>Ellie Beavins led Franklin with a 77, followed by Liv Parramore (79) and Ava Ray (80). Meg Fosnot, Sage Parsetich and Camille Short each carded an 80 for Center Grove.</p><p>Bunker wins junior event</p><p>Ava Bunker of Franklin won the Golfweek Junior Tour event at Rock Hollow over the weekend. The 12-year-old played in the girls 15-19 division and shot 80-73—153 to win easily.</p><p>Boys tennis</p><p>Warriors remain unbeaten</p><p>Whiteland used a third-set tiebreaker win from Ty McCullars at No. 2 singles to edge Greenwood, 3-2, on Saturday. The Warriors’ other points came in doubles, with Christian Felker and Dylan Gross winning at No. 1 and Josh Pitts and Travis Robinson prevailing at No. 2. Ethan Gray and Charlie Brooks were winners at first and third singles, respectively, for the Woodmen (2-2).</p><p>Greenwood also lost to Plainfield, 4-1, while the Warriors (5-0) swept the Quakers by a 5-0 count.</p><p>Trojans sweep at home</p><p>Center Grove claimed the title at its own tournament Saturday, beating Perry Meridian 5-0 and edging both Brownsburg and Terre Haute South in 3-2 battles.</p><p>Luke Embrey and Seth Jasek were unbeaten on the day at second and third singles, respectively, while the No. 1 doubles team of Landen Finlinson and Bennett Strain was also perfect for the Trojans (4-0).</p><p>Volleyball</p><p>Trojans swept by Bulldogs</p><p>Center Grove was defeated by Brownsburg in straight sets on Saturday, 25-19, 25-14, 25-18. Grace Boggess and Katie Egenolf finished with 13 and 12 kills, respectively, in defeat for the Class 4A No. 5 Trojans (1-3).</p><p>Warriors split four</p><p>Whiteland won two of its four matches at the Franklin Central Invitational on Saturday. The Warriors (2-3) beat Shenandoah and Rossville and lost to Illiana Christian and the host Flashes.</p><p>Roncalli wins in three</p><p>Roncalli swept Bishop Chatard on Saturday, 25-7, 25-16, 25-19. Miranda Wilson put down 10 kills in the win.</p>
