Metzger, Woodmen roll

Emily Metzger scored all four goals in Greenwood’s 4-0 home win over Beech Grove on Thursday. The Woodmen’s back line of Alicia Ader, Josie Ochsner, Brooklee Dotson and Holly Harden held the Hornets without a shot on goal.

Boys soccer

Grizzly Cubs blank Hawks

Sophomores Drew Nemeth and Griffin Atkison scored to lift Franklin to a 2-0 victory over Decatur Central on the team’s senior night. The Grizzly Cubs are 3-1 overall, 2-0 in the Mid-State.

Trojans take road loss

Class 3A No. 9 Center Grove lost at No. 6 Carmel on Thursday night, 3-0.

Volleyball

Trojans handle Red Devils

Center Grove rolled to a three-set win over Pike on its senior night, 25-13, 25-13, 25-10. Katie Egenolf led the Trojans with 13 kills and five service aces, while Jenna Otto dished out 21 assists.

Grizzly Cubs fall in four

After winning the first set against Trinity Lutheran, the Grizzly Cubs dropped three straight to suffer a 27-25, 25-27, 14-25, 20-25 setback.

Roncalli sweeps Columbus North

Faith Burch had 27 assists and eight services aces to lead Roncalli to a 25-9, 25-16, 25-7 victory at Columbus North on Thursday. Sarah Lezon had 12 kills in the win.

Braves top Lancers

Indian Creek posted a 4-1 win at Edinburgh on Thursday. Brendan Conner and Aiden Pemberton earned straight-set victories at second and third singles for the Braves, who also got doubles points at No. 1 (Jake Mitchell/Cass Mitchell) and No. 2 (Cole Allison/Trent Volz). Max Blandford prevented the sweep with a three-set win at first singles for the Lancers.

Warriors keep rolling

Whiteland swept its way to a 5-0 triumph over Perry Meridian on Thursday. The 28th-ranked Warriors (7-0, 4-0 Mid-State) got straight-set singles wins from Quinten Gillespie, Ty McCullars and Ariss Mardanzai, and the doubles teams of Dylan Gross and Christian Felker (No. 1) and Travis Robinson and Josh Pitts (No. 2) also won easily.

Roncalli falls short

Despite a win from Tyler Schofield at No. 1 singles, Roncalli lost to Covenant Christian, 3-2.

Royals down Woodmen

Greenwood (217) and Roncalli (227) were defeated in a three-way match at No. 7 Hamilton Southeastern on Thursday.
