Warriors top Braves in five

Whiteland rallied from a set down twice to pull out a 22-25, 26-24, 25-27, 25-23, 15-10 victory at Indian Creek on Wednesday evening. Sarah Scott served nine straight points to help the Warriors (5-9) rally from six down in the fourth set, while Grace Meluskey and Chloe Eastburn turned in outstanding defensive efforts.

Grizzly Cubs top Warriors

Mollie Hill found the net twice and Erica Buening also scored once as Franklin beat Whiteland, 3-0, on Wednesday. Addie Marshall earned the shutout in goal for the Grizzly Cubs (5-4, 3-1 Mid-State), who got a pair of assists from Stephanie Brady.

Trojans blank Giants

Class 3A No. 20 Center Grove coasted to a 7-0 road win over Ben Davis on Wednesday. Makensie Kramer scored twice for the Trojans (4-2, 4-0 MIC), while Paige Northern, Halle Lane, Paige Waskom, Ella Blazek and Kayli Farmer added one goal apiece.

Woodmen nipped by Pioneers

Despite 12 saves by Kiley Hankenhoff, Greenwood suffered a 1-0 defeat at Mooresville. The loss drops the Woodmen to 5-3 on the year.

Girls golf

Woodmen second in three-way

A medalist round of 40 from Maura Guilfoy helped Greenwood finish second in a three-way match with Avon and Franklin on Wednesday. Lucia Agresta added a 45 for the Woodmen, who posted a team total of 190.

Braves pull out narrow win

Hannah Emenhiser’s 48 helped lift Indian Creek past Triton Central, 232-235, on Wednesday.

Boys tennis

Lancers ground Jets

Edinburgh earned a 3-2 victory over Hauser for the second time this season on Wednesday, claiming its first Mid-Hoosier Conference championship in the process. The Lancers picked up all three singles points, with Max Blandford, Travis Jones and Chase Littlejohn all winning in straight sets.

Roncalli tops Southport

Roncalli beat Southport, 4-1, behind a singles sweep from Tyler Schofield, Ty Ransburg and Nathan Fikes. The second doubles team of Josh Wormann and Cole Elzea also won.
