Girls soccer

Trojans blank Red Devils

Center Grove rolled past Pike, 9-0, on Monday. The Trojans (5-3, 5-0 MIC) got two goals apiece from Paige Northern and Taylor Wert and single tallies from Emily Karr, Paige Waskom, Jaden Hippenmeyer, Peyton Murphy and Halle Lane. Lexi Glover and Kayli Farmer each had two assists.

Woodmen defeated by Cougars

Despite 15 saves by goalkeeper Kiley Hankenhoff, Greenwood came up on the short end of a 2-0 score against Greenfield-Central. The Woodmen fell to 6-4 with the loss.

Cougars get past Pioneers

Izzy Reed put down 24 kills to lead Greenwood Christian to a 25-12, 13-25, 25-22, 25-21 victory at Mooresville on Monday. The Cougars also got 36 assists from Riley Ratliff and five aces from Mayah Schundelmier.

Boys tennis

Warriors clinch conference title

Whiteland sealed up the Mid-State Conference tournament championship by advancing to the championship match in each of the five individual brackets during Monday’s early-round matchups. The finals will be played today at Perry Meridian, with the Warriors playing against Greenwood in each of the three singles matches.

Trojans sweep Cougars

Center Grove was a 5-0 winner at Bloomington North on Monday, with Dhrumil Patel, Luke Embrey and Seth Jasek sweeping the singles matches. The No. 6 Trojans also got wins from Carson Contos and Landen Finlinson at first doubles and Glen Swaney and Bennett Strain in the second spot.

Lancers fall to Owls

Edinburgh lost a home match against Seymour, 5-0. Chase Littlejohn took his match to three sets at third singles.

Roncalli edges Heritage

Tyler Schofield won his No. 1 singles match in three sets to lift Roncalli to a 3-2 triumph over Heritage Christian. Ty Ransburg won at No. 3 singles, and the No. 2 doubles team of Cole Elzea and Josh Wormann also won in straight sets.

Woodmen squeak past Warriors

Greenwood pulled out a 216-218 victory over Whiteland on Monday at Valle Vista, with Maura Guilfoy and Madison Shaffer posting the low rounds for the Woodmen. Tara Watson led the Warriors with a 52.

Grizzly Cubs edge Quakers

Ava Ray’s 37 helped lead No. 9 Franklin past Plainfield, 168-173, at Hillview. The Grizzly Cubs also got a 42 from Liv Parramore, 44 from Morgan Sandrock and 45 from Kara Heuchan.

Trojans win best-ball match

Center Grove defeated Perry Meridian, 3-1, in a best-ball match at Hickory Stick. Meg Fosnot and Lanie DeHaven earned one point for the sixth-ranked Trojans, while Camille Short and Lauren Pagel teamed for another and Haidyn Brooks and Natalie Wilson got the third.
