Brigitte Gagnon Lessard

GREENWOOD

Brigitte Gagnon Lessard, age 99, loving wife and devoted mother, departed this life to join her husband on September 15, 2020.

She was born August 21, 1921 in Saint-Justin, a small village in Qu?bec, Canada. She married Robert Lessard in June 26, 1948 and they immigrated to Chicago, IL. They subsequently lived in Franklin, IN followed by Middletown, OH before coming to Greenwood, IN in 1958 to establish Greenwood Medical Laboratory. Brigitte was a homemaker and when her children were older, she worked part-time as a salesclerk at L.S.Ayres. She then went to work at her husband’s Lab as a receptionist and office clerk until they retired.

Bob and Brigitte enjoyed travel to many foreign countries as well as spending time in Sarasota, FL and many winters in Snowmass, CO.

Brigitte was a member of Psi Iota Xi and many bridge clubs in earlier years.

Those left to mourn her passing are her 3 children: Francine (Jim Riley) Lessard of Muskegon, MI; Micheline (Jeff) Goben of Greenwood, IN; Robert Jr. (Tara Lynch) Lessard of Hampton Bays, NY; grandsons: P.J. (Anne) Goben of Buford, GA and Tony (Emily) Goben of Greenwood, IN; great-grandchildren: Chance, Bridget and Wyatt.

She is survived by 1 sister, H?lene, in Qu?bec. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob on May 2, 2010 after 62 years of marriage; four brothers and three sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 11 a.m., at Our Lady of the Greenwood Church, 335 S. Meridian Street, Greenwood. Calling will take place Thursday 10-11 a.m. prior to the Mass. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Greenwood Village South Employee Christmas Fund, 295 Village Lane, Greenwood, IN 46143.
