Michael Wayne Alvey, 59, was called Home to Heaven on September 12, 2020. He was born to the late James and Hazel (Walls) Alvey in Franklin, Indiana.

<p>
Mike was an amazing family man and a great friend to all whom welcomed him. He never knew a stranger. He brightened everyone’s day with his contagious smile and laugh. He was everyone’s sunshine. As a man he was very selfless, making sure you had before he did, even if that meant him going without. As a testament, this is how he finished his life by not putting the burden of his actual illness on others, he kept it private, and dealt with it in private. He insisted on living life without change to routine, without casting worry, he faced his challenges by himself. His kids and his grandkids were his world, he would take anyone in and treat them as if they were his own.
</p>
<p>
He was a dedicated employee of the Greenwood Community School Corporation for over 30 years. His job was very important to him, he made sure he worked very hard. On any given day, if Mike wasn’t outside cleaning his truck, you could find him sitting outside on the swing with the love of his life, Crissy, someone he loved deeply. He wanted to be outside and active enjoying life with his family. Cars were Mike’s passion. His Trailblazer SS was his heartbeat. He was not a materialistic man, he was very humble and charismatic.

<p>
Mike is survived by his life partner of 22 years, Crissy Langford, children: Anthony, Cory, Amy, Andrea, Travis, Cheyenne, Shawnee, and Jesse. Grandchildren: Madelyn, Olivia, Larissa, Kaylin, Mariah, Quinn, Addie, Bryden, Leonna, Landon, Aiden, Trentyn, Colton, Cooper, Dalton, and Sophie, as well as many beloved, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
