Warriors top Braves on the road

Whiteland earned a 209-220 road win against Indian Creek at Tameka Woods on Wednesday. Chloe Cooper posted the low round for the Warriors with a 49, while Hannah Emenhiser posted a 47 in defeat for the Braves.

Lancers beaten by Eagles

Edinburgh took a 216-225 loss to Brown County at Salt Creek. Morgan Calhoun shared medalist honors for the match, leading the Lancers with a 47.

Grizzly Cubs defeat Artesians

Franklin posted a 3-1 victory over Martinsville on Wednesday. Mollie Hill, Stephanie Brady and Hayley Doddridge each scored for the Grizzly Cubs (6-5, 4-1 Mid-State).

Trojans rout Lawrence North

Jaden Hippenmeyer scored three times and Taylor Wert added two goals and two assists in Center Grove’s 9-1 rout of Lawrence North. Emily Karr also tallied two goals for the Trojans (6-3, 6-0 MIC), with Ella DeWitt and Paige Waskom netting one each.

Woodmen fall to Quakers

Greenwood took a 4-1 loss against Plainfield. Tori Graber scored the lone goal for the Woodmen (6-5, 2-3 Mid-State) on an assist from Olivia Brawley. Goalie Kiley Hankenhoff made 15 saves in defeat for Greenwood, which travels to Greenwood Christian today.

Warriors fall in penalty-kick shootout

After both teams went through regulation and overtime knotted at 0-0, Whiteland was beaten by visiting Perry Meridian in a penalty-kick shootout.

Franklin College

HCAC football season to open Feb. 27

The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference released its spring football schedule, with each league team playing seven games beginning in late February.

Franklin College will play four conference home games, opening with back-to-back dates against Defiance (Feb. 27) and Anderson (March 5). The Grizzlies also host Mount St. Joseph (March 20) and Hanover (April 10).

The team will also play road games at Manchester (March 13), Bluffton (March 27) and Rose-Hulman (April 3).

HCAC men’s and women’s soccer schedules will be released today.
