Grizzly Cubs fall short

Martinsville rallied with a pair of second-half goals to pull out a 3-2 victory at Franklin on Thursday. Griffin Atkison and Colin Haveman both scored goals in a losing effort for the Grizzly Cubs (4-6, 2-3 Mid-State).

Warriors clipped by Falcons

In a battle for sole possession of second in the Mid-State Conference, Whiteland came up on the losing end of a 1-0 score at Perry Meridian.

Volleyball

Cougars win at Whiteland

Greenwood Christian earned a four-set victory over host Whiteland on Thursday. The win improves the Cougars to 8-4 on the season.

Braves earn league win

Indian Creek powered its way past visiting Edgewood on Thursday 25-18, 20-25, 25-17, 25-19. Faith Wiseman led a balanced Braves attack with 13 kills, while Ava McClanahan and Makena Hogue each added 10 and Delaney Heminger finished with six.

Lancers beaten in four

Host Edinburgh came up short against Brown County on Thursday, 25-23, 24-26, 25-17, 25-17. Carly Cowan had six kills and Alyssa Funkhouser 16 assists and three aces for the Lancers.

Boys tennis

Trojans advance three in MIC

Center Grove faced a difficult draw in the first round of the MIC tournament on Thursday but still advanced in three of five brackets. Dhrumil Patel and Seth Jasek earned victories at first and third singles, while the No. 1 doubles team of Landen Finlinson and Carson Contos also won. The tournament wraps up Saturday at Ben Davis.

Lancers edge Saints

A clean sweep of the singles points enabled Edinburgh to defeat Indianapolis Lutheran, 3-2. Max Blandford, Travis Jones and Chase Littlejohn all won in straight sets for the Lancers.
