Three teens this weekend walked into a Franklin retail store, pointed a gun at employees and fled with multiple cell phones.

Jacob R. Santos, 19, was arrested and charged with robbery, a Level 3 felony; theft, a Level 6 felony; battery with a deadly weapon, a Level 5 felony; pointing a firearm, a Level 6 felony; criminal recklessness, a Level 6 felony; and carrying a handgun without a license, a misdemeanor.

Dajuan A. Barnes, also 19, was arrested and charged with robbery and theft.

Two juveniles were also arrested and charged with robbery, according to a Franklin Police Department news release.

Franklin police about 2:45 p.m. Saturday responded to a report of an armed robbery in progress at AT&T Wireless, 1711 N. Morton St., according to the news release. Santos pointed a gun at employees and the three teens ordered one of them to lead them to a safe at the store from which they stole several boxed cell phones, the news release said.

No one was injured during the robbery, said Kirby Cochran, Franklin police chief.

A vehicle description went out to surrounding agencies, and the suspect vehicle was subsequently stopped, the news release said.

"We want to give thanks to all of the assisting agencies including the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, Greenwood Police Department, Whiteland and New Whiteland police departments," Cochran said. "Thank you to the witnesses who were able to provide a vehicle description and information which ultimately led to the apprehension of these dangerous suspects."

Santos is held on $23,900 bond. Barnes is held at the Johnson County jail on $17,200 bond.
