Thomas Henry Sims, age 84, passed away Monday, October 19, 2020 at Johnson Memorial Health.
</p>
<p>
Tom was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to Thomas Franklin Sims and Maggie Elizabeth (Prince) Sims. He is a 1953 graduate of Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis and attended Indiana Central College. He also proudly served his country in the Army Reserves. On March 30, 1958, he married the love of his life, Carolyn Anne McKeighan, who survives. Tom was a Patrolman for the Indianapolis Police Department for over 30 years. He also served his community as the Chief of Police of Homecroft, Indiana. Tom enjoyed fishing, drawing, growing roses, and vacationing on cruise ships.

Tom was a member of Southport Masonic Lodge #270, Southport Order of the Eastern Star #442 (Past Patron), Murat Shrine, Scottish Rite, Order of the Amaranth, and the Fraternal Order of Police.
</p>
<p>
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Carolyn A. Sims, Daughters Melanie Payne (Randy), Cheryl Chodkiewicz, Granddaughters Adrienne Miller (Andrew), Brittney Payne, Carly Chodkiewicz, and Jenna Chodkiewicz, Great Granddaughter Olivia Miller, Sisters Francine Carter (Fred), Beth Popplewell (Mark), Niece, Nephews, and Cousins.

Funeral services for Tom Sims will be private.
