Edith "Eydie" Jines 79 of Franklin, IN passed away Sunday October 25, 2020 at Franciscan Health holding the hand of her husband. She was born September 10, 1941 in Central City KY, to Everett Leslie and Dorothy Marie (Warner) Leslie. She married the love of her life, Larry D. Jines on October 6, 1958 in Chicago, IL, he survives.

She was a graduate of a beauty college in Chicago, IL and spent many years cutting and styling hair for family and friends even after she retired. During her life, she made countless friends in Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Florida and Indiana. She attended Grace United Methodist Church in Franklin, IN and also was a member of the Garden Club in LaGrange, IL, Red Hat Society in Okeechobee, FL, she volunteered for the Lords Cupboard in Franklin, IN, was involved in the Centennial Celebration in Pleasantdale, IL, was a former Girl Scouts Leader and active in the PTA in LaGrange, IL. She enjoyed garage sales, making dinners for her beloved neighbors, and above all, spending quality time with her friends and family. Her banana bread (Nanabread) was legendary.

She was a kind and gentle hearted person and loved children and anyone she could laugh with. She was a citizen of the world and traveled to Paris and spent time living as a newly wed in Germany; she would go anywhere to be with those that she loved. She traveled to all 50 states and took her grandkids on a summer vacation trip every year in their camper. They knew her as "Nana." She was a good Samaritan and particular in picking up litter whenever she saw it.

Survivors include her husband Larry D. Jines of Franklin, IN, two daughters Belinda M. Jines of Gulf Port, FL and Veneita L. Jines Taylor of Franklin, IN, three grandchildren Ryan W. Taylor (Sarah) of Franklin, IN, Adam S. Taylor of Denver, CO and Madison J. Taylor of Franklin, IN, one great grandson Ethan S. Taylor and a sister Ruby Jean Leslie of Carlsbad, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Connie Cline and a brother Frankie Leslie.

The Reverends Andy Kinsey and Jenothy Irvine will conduct a Celebration of Life Service on Thursday October 29, 2020 at 6 PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed for family and friends to connect at <a href="http://www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/edith-jines">www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/edith-jines</a>. Please use Firefox Internet or Google Chrome for optimal viewing. A time of gathering and sharing will be on Thursday October 29, 2020 from 4PM until the 6PM service time at the mortuary. Due to COVID-19 mandates facial coverings or mask are required for those attending.
