Ella Mae (Lytton) Dixon, 91 of Franklin, was embraced by her Heavenly Father early Wednesday morning, October 28, 2020.

Ella Mae was born in Flora, Illinois on May 18th, 1929. She was married to her loving husband Clayton Edward “Bud” Dixon for seventy-two years before he preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her parents Edna & Earl and her brothers Richard and Dale Lytton.

She is survived by her loving family: two sons, Neil A. Dixon (Leann) and Greg Dixon (Connie), three grandchildren: Brittany Dixon (Tyler), Mekenzie Kearney (Aaron) and Jared Short (Leanne), three great grandchildren, as well as two sisters Linda Uchitjil (Leroy), and Laura Bailey.

Ella Mae was a homemaker and worked at Johnson Memorial Hospital in the surgical supply department for ten years.

She was a faithful member of Turning Pointe Christian Church, formerly Franklin Church of Christ in Franklin. She enjoyed reading, studying scripture, and spending time with her dog, Star. Ella Mae enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends and family, who she loved so dearly. She was a strong and generous woman who always will be remembered for her vibrant spirit and contagious smile that lit up a room.

Charlie Evans will conduct a Celebration of Ella Mae’s life on Saturday, October 31, at 2:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call on Saturday, October 31 from 11:00 a.m. to time of service at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, Indiana. Due to COVID-19 mandates, facial coverings or masks are required for those attending.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Ella Mae to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
