Trojans hold off Flashes
Center Grove opened with a 45-39 victory at Franklin Central on Tuesday, avenging a loss in last season’s sectional final.
Mary Wilson scored 19 points to lead the Trojans, going 4 for 4 from the foul line in the fourth quarter to help seal the win. Freshman Aubrie Booker added 10 points, including three 3-pointers, in her debut.
Warriors coast in opener
Whiteland got its season started with a lopsided 62-24 home win over Crispus Attucks behind 20 points from Braylyn Clendenen.
Gracie McCullars added 15 points for the Warriors, followed by Muskaan Ghuman with 11 and Kylee Marlin with eight. The home squad used a 25-4 third quarter to put the game away.
