Jerry R. Limp, age 80, passed away peacefully with his granddaughter, Angie, by his side, on Thursday evening, October 29, 2020 at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis. He was a lifelong resident of Franklin.

Jerry was born November 3, 1939 in Franklin, to his parents, the late Otto and Nellie Mae (Jones) Limp, Sr. He attended Franklin Community High School. Jerry retired in 2000 from Ford Motor Company in Indianapolis, where he worked as a Stock Attendant and on the Steering Column Line.

He was a member of the United Auto Workers Local 1111 in Indianapolis, where he served as the Alternate Committeeman for more than 40 years. He was also a member of the Greenwood Moose Lodge and the Franklin American Legion.

Jerry enjoyed spending time in the outdoors by boating, shooting, mushroom hunting and four-wheeling. He enjoyed his time with his brother Garold on their WaveRunner, performing antick stunts on Lake Lemon and the Ohio River. He loved food, woodworking and finding a good deal at yard sales and auctions. He had a love for dogs and took great care of his border collie, Lady and step-dog, Sadie. In his spare time, he was involved in COB role playing at Camp Atterbury, where they would train troops to prepare them for their mission in Iraq.

Jerry is survived by his companion, Judy Garrison of Franklin; children, Vicki L. Porter of Bargersville and Rick J. Limp of Nashville; grandchildren, Angie (Ryan) Burnside of Fairland & Keith Frazier of Bargersville, Chelsi Mitchell of Knoxville, TN, Zoe Carpenter of Greenwood, Tara & Heather Limp; great grandchildren, Austin (Katlin) Burnside of Greenwood & Kylee Burnside of Fairland; great-great grandson: Branson Burnside of Greenwood; step children, Scott Carpenter (Whitney) of Greenwood, Dawn Carpenter and Sherri (Scott) Mitchell of Franklin, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Marion L. (Lawlor) Limp on October 18, 2007. He was also preceded in death by siblings, Louese Meredith, Harold Limp, Otto Limp Jr. and Garold Limp; son in law, Russell Berg, his first wife, Mary Jo Limp, and his beloved dog Shadow.

The Rev. Burt Brock will conduct a Celebration of Jerry’s Life at 6 p.m. on Wednesday November 11th at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton Street in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until service time at the funeral home in Franklin. Arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith – Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
