<p>Girls basketball</p><p><strong>Grizzly Cubs tame Bull Dogs</strong></p><p>Franklin shot a blistering 13 of 25 from 3-point range on the way to a 56-44 victory over Columbus North on Saturday afternoon.</p><p>Down 19-17 late in the second quarter, the Grizzly Cubs (2-0) took control with a 23-3 run that lasted through the entire third.</p><p>Kuryn Brunson had 19 points and 11 rebounds for Franklin, which also got 14 points from Kyra Baker and 12 from Scarlett Kimbrell.</p><p>Woodmen win in Bloomington</p><p>Greenwood led from start to finish and held on for a 44-43 victory at Bloomington North on Saturday afternoon. Quinn Kelly led the Woodmen (1-1) with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Brooklyn Bell added seven points, 10 boards, four assists, two steals and two blocked shots.</p><p>Josie Ochsner scored nine points and Emily Metzger contributed a big 3-pointer in the fourth quarter to help keep the visitors on top.</p><p><strong>Cougars earn big road win</strong></p><p>Izzy Reed scored 29 points as Class A No. 5 Greenwood Christian posted a 58-49 win at Class 2A No. 2 Triton Central on Saturday night. Brooklyn Stubblefield and Savvanah Frye chipped in 13 and 10 points, respectively.</p><p><strong>Warriors top Cougars</strong></p><p>Whiteland pulled out a 44-42 victory at Greenfield-Central on Saturday, improving to 2-0 on the young season.</p><p><strong>Trojans swept at home</strong></p><p>Center Grove faced a pair of tough tests in the Trojan Classic on Saturday, falling to Hamilton Southeastern in its early game by a 42-27 score and then dropping a 63-55 overtime clash with Class 4A No. 6 Fishers in the nightcap.</p><p>Mary Wilson totaled 42 points on the day for the 10th-ranked Trojans (1-2), including 31 in the loss to the Tigers.</p><p><strong>Braves fall in opener</strong></p><p>Indian Creek’s season got started with an 88-36 loss to Martinsville on Saturday. Freshman Lauren Foster led the Braves with 16 points.</p>
