Carl Shahan Howard, Jr. 96 of Greenwood, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2020.
</p>
<p>
He was born on January 31, 1924 in Mishawaka, Indiana to Carl S. Howard, III., Sr. and Fern (Stuff) Howard. He married Ruby Rose (McGee) Howard in 1942. She preceded him in passing on March 11, 2002. He is survived by daughter, Lisa Jean Hinton; and sons, Jon Allen Howard and Leslie Lynn Howard; ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren and one brother, Edgar Howard. He was preceded in passing by his parents; wife, Ruby and son, Carl S. Howard, III.
</p>
<p>
He attended school in Mulberry, Indiana and Attica, Indiana and graduated from high school in Sullivan, Indiana.
</p>
<p>
Carl was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Coast Guard as a U.S. Merchant Marine.
</p>
<p>
He owned and operated Howco, Inc. and Howard Real Estate and Insurance.
</p>
<p>
He was a member of the Franklin Elks Lodge No. 1818; Franklin American Legion Post No. 205; and Greenwood Moose Lodge No. 2079. Carl was a member of the Greenwood Masonic Lodge No. 514, F & A M; Indianapolis Valley of Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite; Murat Shrine and the Johnson County Shrine Club in Franklin, Indiana.

Rev. Cleon Wright will conduct a Celebration of Carl’s life on Monday, November 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin with calling on Monday from 9:00 a.m. to time of service at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Dugger Cemetery in Dugger, Indiana. A Masonic service will be conducted on Monday at the funeral home. Due to COVID-19 mandates, facial coverings and mask are required.
