Cougars get past University

Styles McCorkle poured in 32 points to lift Class A No. 8 Greenwood Christian to a 57-51 victory at Class 2A No. 7 University on Friday night. Evan Stinnett and Cam Thompson added 12 and eight points, respectively, for the Cougars (1-1), who knocked down 10 3-pointers.

Woodmen defeat Artesians

Greenwood rode a strong second-half defense to a 41-34 win at Martinsville. Brock Kincaid scored 14 points for the Woodmen (2-0), followed closely by Rasheed Elemikan’s 12.

Lancers rout Twisters

Edinburgh rode 12 3-point makes to a 68-44 victory at Oldenburg Academy. Noah Detling scored 17 points for the Lancers (3-0), who also got double-digit scoring efforts from Chase Littlejohn (14 points) and Caleb Dewey (13) and 10 rebounds from Travis Jones.

Rookies power Braves to victory

Freshmen Lauren Foster and Faith Wiseman scored 21 and 19 points, respectively, to lead Indian Creek to a 68-49 triumph at Owen Valley on Friday evening. Emily Todor chipped in 12 points for the Braves (4-3), while Kurstin Thompson finished with nine.

Trojans roll past Bears

Mary Wilson’s 22 points helped power Center Grove to a 49-26 road win over Lawrence North. Aubrie Booker totaled 11 points for the Trojans (5-4, 1-1 MIC) and Ella Hobson contributed eight.
