Police: Woman stabs man in domestic dispute

A Greenwood woman was arrested after she stabbed her boyfriend’s lip during a domestic dispute.

McKenzie Marie Agee, 24, was arrested on a charge of domestic battery with a deadly weapon, a Level 5 felony. She could face up to six years in prison if convicted.

The Greenwood Police Department responded to a call at 12:35 a.m. Thursday in the 1900 block of Hurley Street.

A man standing outside when police arrived said Agee stabbed him in the lower lip with a kitchen knife after they were arguing, said Matt Fillenwarth, assistant police chief.

The couple’s children were inside the home when the incident happened and when officers arrived, Fillenwarth said. Agee’s clothes were covered in blood from the man’s wound, and she had hid the knife in one of the couch cushions, he said.

The man was checked by medics at the scene and released.

Agee was arrested and booked into the Johnson County jail where she is being held without bond.
