Evelyn Bertha (Wert) Nicholson, 95, of Beech Grove, Indiana passed away Tuesday, December 8th, 2020 in Franklin, Indiana.
</p>
<p>
Evelyn was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on June 26th, 1925 to the late Jesse Wert and Elsie (Steinbeck) Wert.
</p>
<p>
Evelyn was employed working in the kitchen at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin, Indiana for many years before retiring . She was also a proud member of the New Whiteland Eastern Star for over forty years.
</p>
<p>
Evelyn could often be found writing poetry and listening to piano music in her spare time. She found great enjoyment in spending time with friends and family; never turning down a chance to make a memory with them. The role she cherished most was being a loving mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed.
</p>
<p>
Evelyn is survived by her four children, Kathy (Tim) Eicher, of Beech Grove, Indiana; Rebecca (Bill) Houchens, of Glasgow, Kentucky; Mike (Dorothy) Nicholson, of Beech Grove, Indiana; and Janet Dyer of Greencastle, Indiana; her eight grandchildren, and her eight great-grandchildren.
</p>
<p>
Evelyn is preceded in death by her late husband Harold R. Nicholson and her seven siblings.
</p>
<p>
A funeral service will be conducted on Monday, December 14, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. with visitation at 11:00 A.M. until the funeral service at Jessen Funeral Home ~ Whiteland Chapel. Evelyn will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, Indiana
</p>
<p>
Per the Indiana State Governor, Eric Holcomb, and the Indiana State Department of Health’s mandate, all services and visitations are limited to 50 people or less as of November 15th, 2020. Masks are mandatory and are to be worn at all times.
</p>
<p>
Arrangements are entrusted to Jessen Funeral Homes & Crematory ~ Whiteland Chapel.
</p>
