WHITELAND, IN.

Richard Samuel Winscott II 64 of Whiteland, IN passed away Wednesday December 9, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 15, 1956 at St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove, IN to Richard Samuel Winscott Sr. and Dorothy June (Davis) Winscott. He married Celeste (Dunlap) Winscott, she survives. He was a 1974 graduate of Southport High School. He founded and was the owner operator alongside his sons Air Group Indy and Circle City Logistics in Indianapolis where he owned and operated for the last 30 years. He attended Emmanuel Church of Greenwood at Stones Crossing. He coached boys’ basketball at the Franklin Boys Club and coached with the Greater Whiteland Baseball Association. He was an avid Beatles fan and Civil War history buff. Survivors include his wife of 46 years Celeste (Dunlap) Winscott of Whiteland, IN, two sons Richard Samuel Winscott III and daughter in law Amy of Beech Grove, IN and Michael Alan Winscott and daughter in law Laura of Franklin, IN, his three beloved grandchildren Charlotte Winscott, Henry Winscott and Georgia Winscott, two brothers Charles Winscott of Greenwood, IN and David Winscott and sister in law Sonja of Indianapolis, IN and two sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents. Due to current COVID-19 Mandate and circumstances, a private service will be conducted and live-streamed for family and friends to connect on Monday December 14, 2020 at 2PM at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/richard-winscott.
