James "Jim" Robert Templeton, age 84, of Holland, Michigan passed away on Wednesday December 15, 2020 due to complications from COVID-19.
</p>
<p>
Jim was born to John and Frances Templeton on June 23, 1936 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He graduated from Fortville, Indiana High School in 1954 and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Franklin College. He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.
</p>
<p>
Jim met the love of his life, Elizabeth "Tib" Bales at Franklin College in 1956. They were married for 58 years and they lived in Greenwood, Indiana where they raised their family before moving to Holland, Michigan in 2003 when they also began spending their winters in Naples, Florida. Tib preceded him in death in 2018.

He worked for many years as a Credit Manager at Herff Jones in Indianapolis, Indiana.
</p>
<p>
He leaves as his legacy his devoted children, daughter Jane Clark and her husband Robert of Holland, Michigan and son Jim Templeton, Jr. and his long-time girlfriend Stephanie Shelton of Springfield, Missouri. Jim was a wonderful and proud grandfather to his two grandsons, Harrison Clark and girlfriend Annie Tyner of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Hudson Clark and fianc?e Ellice Sollner of Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Jim also leaves to cherish his memory his sister Annette Everling, brother and sister-in-law John and Martha Templeton, his sister-in-law Mary Louise Spicer, and many nieces and nephews. No services are planned at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
</p>
<p>
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Franklin College or to the Johnson County, Indiana Historical Society. The family would like to thank Appledorn Assisted Living North for their compassionate care and support.
