Barbara Herndon, 90, passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at St. Francis Hospital South in Indianapolis, IN. She was a resident of Franklin, IN.
</p>
<p>
She was born on September 5, 1930 in Indianapolis, IN to William and Mildred (Bordeaux) Kohlstaedt. She married Donald Herndon. He preceded her in passing. Survivors include her children Cynthia S. Calabra of Greenwood, IN, Leeann C. Wood (Bradlie) of New Whiteland, IN. Step-children Kay Johnson (Jim) of Indianapolis, IN, Becky Coupe of FL, Gary Herndon (Rissa) of Greenwood, IN; sister Sally Boothe of Greenfield, IN; grandchildren, Matthew Calabra, Anthony Calabra, Crystal Wilson, Joshua Wood, Michael Wood, Amy New, Carrie Johnson, Rob Johnson, Scott Dozier; Jonathan Schiewer, Jenny Pyrcioch, Melissa Gipson and great-grandchildren, Brooklynn, Travis, Gabriella, Adrian, Maggie, Callie, Piper, Farrah, Talia, Eric.

Barbara was a 1948 graduate of Howe High School in Indianapolis, IN. She later attended Central Business College.
</p>
<p>
She was employed by RCA as an office secretary for many years.
</p>
<p>
She enjoyed golfing at Hillview Country Club, going to Florida each winter with her beloved husband, Don; painting-especially ceramics, knitting, crocheting, playing Rummikub, and attending Red Hat meetings. The thing she loved the most was spending time with her family. She adored her children, grand-children and great-grandchildren.

She was a long-time volunteer for Johnson Memorial Hospital.
</p>
<p>
She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Franklin, IN.
</p>
<p>
A graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 2:00pm at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN. Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home in Franklin, IN is handling arrangements.
