Carolyn A. (Burdsall) Carey 84 of Franklin, IN passed away Friday December 18, 2020 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin, IN. She was born March 20, 1936 in Indianapolis, IN
</p>

to Wayne and Mariam (Williamson) Burdsall. She married James R. Carey on March 8, 1957 at First Baptist Church in Franklin, IN, he preceded her in death on April 16, 2013. She was a 1954 graduate of Franklin High School. Carolyn moved

to Pendleton, IN in 1957 with husband Jim where he taught, coached and was a principal until 1990. Carolyn had been a librarian assistant for Pendleton South Elementary School. Survivors include her two sons Andrew J. Carey (Perian) of Indianapolis, IN and Scott D. Carey of Pendleton, IN, a grandson Quinten James Carey of Pendleton, IN and a sister Rosie Wise of Bargersville, IN. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings Mary Alice Griffin, Johnie Burdsall and Linda Wilkerson. The Reverend Bert Kite will conduct a service on Tuesday December 22, 2020 at 1:30 PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be life-streamed for family and friends to connect at <a href="http://www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/carolyn-carey">www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/carolyn-carey</a>. Friends may call Tuesday December 22, 2020 from 11AM until service time at the mortuary. Due to COVID-19 Mandates, facial coverings or mask are required for those attending.
