Cougars get past Bethesda

Izzy Reed scored 31 points and became the county’s all-time rebounding leader in Class A No. 10 Greenwood Christian’s 65-52 win over Bethesda Christian on Saturday.

Reed hauled down 11 boards to push her career total to 1,169, four more than former Whiteland star Mackenzie Blazek.

Grizzly Cubs move to 10-0

Four players scored in double digits as Class 4A No. 8 Franklin cruised to a 69-42 victory at Shelbyville. Lauren Klem led the Grizzly Cubs (10-0) with 15 points, while Scarlett Kimbrell added 13 and seniors Megan Thompson and Kyra Baker finished with 12 apiece.

Trojans edge Red Devils

Center Grove made 9 of its 11 fourth-quarter free throws to hang on for a 51-48 home win over Pike. Mary Wilson led the Trojans (7-6, 2-1 MIC) with 16 points.

Lancers come up short

Despite 20 points from Annelise Lollar, Edinburgh suffered a 68-43 loss at Triton Central. Gracie Crawhorn chipped in 10 points for the Lancers (3-3).

Greenwood Christian got 19 points from Styles McCorkle and 17 from Blake Shewmaker in a 64-41 win at Bethesda Christian on Saturday. Evan Stinnett contributed 10 points for the Cougars (3-2).

Lancers suffer first setback

Edinburgh’s perfect start came to an end in a 63-53 loss at Monrovia. Travis Jones scored 13 points for the Lancers (6-1), while Riley Palmeter added 11.
