Leon Burton 79 of Franklin, IN passed away Saturday January 2, 2021 at Homeview Health and Rehabilitation Center in Franklin, IN. He was born October 21, 1941 in Columbia, Kentucky to Ealie and Bonnie (Burton) Burton. He married Patricia Y. (Matlock) Burton on July 30, 1983 in Whiteland, IN, she survives. He had been a floor technician for Johnson Memorial Hospital and previously worked for Kawneer in Franklin for 18 years, Arvins and Bendix both in Franklin. He enjoyed working on and selling cars, gardening, volunteering for Johnson County Senior Services where he also served in the food ministry. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his children Daniel Burton (Deb) of Princes Lakes, IN, Toni Johnson (Ovel) of Flat Rock, IN, Lori Allen (Johnny) of Edinburgh, IN, Amanda Etter (Dave) of Franklin, IN, Leaner Burton (Greg) of Edinburgh, IN, Anthony Burton (Anya Best) of Whiteland, IN, Kim Smith (Steve) of Franklin, IN, Pam Cooper (Tim) of Greenwood, IN and Debbie Harris of Ft. Myers, FL, 23 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, one great great grandchildren, siblings Hulis Burton (Valerie) of Frankfort, KY, Leamon Burton of Hope, IN, Shirley Burton of Columbia, KY, Jodi Burton of Columbia, KY, Jerry Burton (Louise) of Raleigh, NC, Nella Lamb of Whiteland, IN, Robert Burton (Pat) of Columbia, KY, Brenda Deal (David) of Raleigh, NC and Edgar Burton (Christine) of Columbia, KY. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Elmo Burton, sister Rosemary Burton, grandson Kycen Burton, and granddaughter Angel Mead. A private graveside will take place at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN.
