Donald Leroy Gilbert 66 of Franklin, IN passed away at his residence on Thursday December 31, 2020. He was born September 25, 1954 in Indianapolis, IN to Kenneth Roy Gilbert and Luella Marie (Bundy) Gilbert. He married Wilma Louise (Adams) Gilbert on October 10, 1973 in Franklin, IN, she survives. He had been a welder for Puritan-Bennett in Indianapolis for 20 years retiring in 1994. He was a United States Army Veteran. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and working on his Koi pond, flying his helicopters and playing his guitar. Survivors include his wife Wilma Louise (Adams) Gilbert of Franklin, IN, daughters Christina Phillips (Ron) of Franklin, IN, Laura Burton of Franklin, IN, a son Donnie Gilbert (Shana) of Franklin, IN, granddaughters Sydney Phillips, Shelby Phillips and Taylor Phillips, great granddaughter Audree Phillips, brothers Kenny Gilbert (Glenda) of Franklin, IN, Ricky Gilbert (Cindy) of Franklin, IN, sisters Brenda Shirley (Randy) of Ft. Myers, FL, Deloris York (Randy) of Indianapolis, IN and Debbie Compton (Tom) of Franklin, IN, thirteen nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth Roy Gilbert and Luella Marie (Bundy) Gilbert and his sister Janice Gilbert. The family will conduct a private memorial service.
