Greenwood townhomes to open soon on westside

<p>A new Center Grove area housing complex will open to potential renters in April.</p><p>Redwood Greenwood is a new townhouse complex at the intersection of State Road 135 and Smokey Row Road, behind Kroger in Greenwood. The new complex includes 100 units, ranging in size from 1,294 to 1,709 square feet, and costing between $1,200 and $2,000 per month.</p><p>The townhouses were developed by Ohio-based Redwood Living, Inc., starting in the fall of 2018. The company initially wanted to build 186 multi-family, ranch-style townhomes on another nearby property, but the city said no to a proposed rezone of the farmland.</p>[sc:text-divider text-divider-title="Story continues below gallery" ]Click here to purchase photos from this gallery<p>So, Redwood scaled down its project to use 36 acres of land next door that was already zoned for multi-family homes, and built the 100-unit Redwood Greenwood complex.</p><p>Redwood’s design resembles more of single-family home with single-story floor plans, attached garages and private entrances with dedicated street addresses, according to a Redwood Living news release.</p><p>Redwood Greenwood residents can choose between six floor plans, each with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, along with a two-car attached garages and storage space. Other amenities include open floor plans, full-size appliances, and washer and dryer hookups.</p><p>It is the company’s first neighborhood in Johnson County, and its 10th in the greater Indianapolis area. Other Redwood communities are in Noblesville, Westfield, Whitestown, Brownsburg, Danville and Plainfield.</p><p>These townhouses are expected to be marketed toward empty-nesters and young professionals. Greenwood’s long-term comprehensive plan calls for some sort of transitional housing, such as upscale apartments, between the businesses to the west and single-family homes to the east of this development.</p><p>Residents will start moving in in April.</p>
