Omer I. Sisson 86 of Trafalgar, IN passed away peacefully Thursday January 14, 2021 at Morning Pointe in Franklin, IN.
</p>
<p>
He was born April 7, 1934 in Brown County, IN to Ray and Jetta (Parker) Sisson.
</p>
<p>
He married his high school sweetheart Lois (Ashley) Sisson on December 19, 1952 at the Trafalgar Christian Church, she preceded him in death on June 26, 2019 after sixty seven and half years of marriage.
</p>
<p>
Omer graduated from Trafalgar High School in 1952. He went to work at Tousley Bixler Construction Company after high school and later F.A. Wilhelm and other construction companies. He retired as a heavy equipment operator in 1996. He had 69 years in the Operating Engineers Local #103.
</p>
<p>
Omer was also a farmer and collected antique John Deere tractors. He was a member of the Johnson County Antique Machinery Association and many other antique machinery clubs. He spent many years working at the Indiana State Fair at the Pioneer Village and also in Elnora, IN and Brookville, IN.
</p>
<p>
Omer and his late wife Lois were 27 year members of the Ding A Ling Square Dance Club and many other square dance clubs.
</p>
<p>
He and Lois enjoyed many winters in the Florida Sunshine.
</p>
<p>
Survivors include his son Mike Sisson and his wife Elaine of Trafalgar, IN, a daughter Janet Esteb and her husband David of Franklin, IN, grandchildren Brent Sisson (Kelly) of Trafalgar, IN, Ginnie York (Jason) of Franklin, IN, Brian Esteb (Melissa) of Franklin, IN, Brad Sisson (Ashley) of Bargersville, IN, Jill Hockemeyer (Chad) of Columbia City, IN, step grandson Brett Reigel (Becca) of Homer, IN, great grandchildren Peyton Sisson, Parker Sisson, Cody York, Hunter York, Catelynn Hockemeyer, Cortney Hockemeyer and Maverick Sisson, four step great grandchildren Samantha Reigal, Mariah Reigal, Sara Reigal and Trey Reigal, a brother Charles Sisson of Greenwood, IN, many nieces and nephews.

<p>
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lois, brothers Glen, Don, Ralph and Bill Sisson, sisters Thelma Arnold, Dortha Thompson and Mildred Swartz.
</p>
<p>
Due to COVID-19 Mandates, the Reverend Doug Bohall will conduct a private family service on Tuesday January 19, 2021 at 2PM and will be live-streamed for family and friends to connect at <a href="http://www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/omer-sisson">www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/omer-sisson</a>.
