James B. Thomas, 85 of Franklin, Indiana went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 29, 2021, surrounded by his loving wife of 66 years and several family members.
</p>
<p>
James was born on April 2, 1935 in Liberty, Kentucky to Fred Thomas and Evelyn (Randolph) Thomas. He married Phyllis (Smith) Thomas on January 22, 1955. She lovingly survives. Other survivors include his children, Jim Thomas (Karen) and Tim Thomas (Lori); grandchildren, Allison Clark (Ryan), Cara Thomas, Tyler Thomas, and Matt Thomas (Shelby); great-grandchildren, Jack Clark, Millie Clark, and Hendryx Thomas; sisters, Joanne Patton and Bea Smith (Jack); and several nieces and nephews. James was preceded in passing by his parents, Fred and Evelyn and his daughter-in-law, Tina Thomas.

<p>
James attended Casey County Schools in Kentucky. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served from 1957 until 1959.
</p>
<p>
He retired as an over the road truck driver and a state CDL examiner. James was a member of the Northern Park Baptist Church in Greenwood.
</p>
<p>
James loved spending time with his family and loved the Lord.
</p>
<p>
A private family service will be livestreamed on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at 11:00a.m. on Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home’s Facebook Page. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
</p>
<p>
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Northern Park Baptist Church General Fund at 598 N. Meridian Street Greenwood, Indiana 46143.
