Clara K. Phillips, 84, Indianapolis, passed away surrounded by love on Monday, Feb 1, 2021 with her family next to her. Born July 16, 1936 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Oscar Holcomb and Gladys (Clendenan) Holcomb,
</p>
<p>
She was a member of Southport Church of the Nazarene, where she was active in the Women’s prayer Group. Clara served the church in many ways, serving as secretary and being in charge of the Missionary Books.
</p>
<p>
She liked to read and journal, and travel. She truly cherished time with her family.
</p>
<p>
She is loved and missed by her husband of 61 years, Damon E. Phillips; three children, Brenda Malott (David Fikes), Damon Phillips (Mary), John Phillips; seven grandchildren, Carrie, Stacey, Jennifer, Megan, David Aaron, Chris and Beth; 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
</p>

She was preceded in death by her four older siblings, Betty Goodmon, Myrtle Alderson, Oscar Holcomb, and Bob Holcomb.
</p>
<p>
Visitation will be observed Friday, February 5 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the Southport Church of the Nazarene, with the funeral at 1:00 PM. She will be laid to rest at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the church in her honor.
