WHITELAND, INDIANA

Surrounded by her loved ones, on February 1, 2021, Linda Kay (Pevler) Sandlin, beloved wife, mom, sister, grandma, and friend reunited with her daughter Angie in Heaven.

Linda, 74, longtime resident of Whiteland, Indiana, was born on October 25,1946, to the late Leroy Pevler and Fern (Gill) Pevler. She grew up on a farm where she had her fair share of responsibilities and adventures, but her favorite memories include being her Daddy’s shadow and driving the tractor.

She was a 1965 graduate of Franklin Community High School. Linda married the love of her life, David Sandlin, at Providence Christian Church on September 24, 1967.

Fondly referred to as Mom, Nana, Linda Kay, Aunt Linda, and Momma Sandlin, Linda cherished every role she played as a mother of three, wife of 53 years, big sister, aunt, grandma, and friend. She treasured every moment she spent with her family and beamed with joy when she became a Nana.

Through the years, Linda had many jobs with the most rewarding one being a mom and grandma. It didn’t matter what she was doing; if she was needed, she was there in a heartbeat.

Linda worked at Clark-Pleasant Academy in Whiteland where she touched and was touched by so many students. She cared so deeply for the kids there, and the students called her Momma Sandlin. She was always so caring, loving, generous, humble, and kind.

Linda was a member of Providence Christian Church for more than 60 years. She dedicated many hours to several ministries at the church, including serving as a deaconess, planning Double Nickel events, volunteering for Christian Women’s Fellowship activities, and providing meals for those in need.

Linda loved gardening, baking, antique shopping, and spending quality time with her girls. She always jumped at the opportunity to cook a delicious homemade meal for her family and friends. This was her way of showing love.

Linda is survived by and deeply missed by her loving husband, David Sandlin, of Whiteland, Indiana; her loving daughters, Emily (Joshua) Stephens of Fountaintown, Indiana, and Suzanne Sandlin (Robert Ryon), of Whiteland, Indiana; her loving sister, Connie (Mike) Clark of Bargersville, Indiana; granddaughter, Izabella “Bella Boo” Ryon; her adoring aunt, Patricia Bowman of Indianapolis, Indiana; and her lifelong loving friend Cathy Johnson of Franklin, Indiana, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents and her precious daughter, Angela Lynn Sandlin.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 4, 2021, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. with a funeral service on Friday, February 5, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Providence Christian Church, 4080 West Road 100 North, Bargersville, Indiana.

Linda will be laid to rest on Friday, February 5, 2021, at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, Indiana.
